BIDWELLS PROPERTY CONSULTANTS
Chippenham Park Estate, Cambridgeshire
Working as part of the consultant team, ELD undertook the detailed tree survey and landscape design associated with gaining planning approval for a high specification reconstruction of an historic building, to include an orangery, sandstone terrace, garden with box hedging and topiary.
The renovated property, shown in the adjacent photograph, is linked to 350 acres of historic parkland and 15 acres of formal gardens that are part of the estate,
surrounded by a wall built in 1696. Chippenham Park has clearly been the subject of considerable alterations and remodelling since the estate came to Mr and Mrs Eustace Crawley in 1985, from whom it had passed by descent in Mrs Crawley's family since 1791. The new garden is linked to Mrs Crawley’s main garden by beech hedging, abstract water pot sculptures and trained, arched planted avenues.
The above photos left and right illustrate the grounds and gardens associated with the renovated property and existing Park to include a bespoke gate design leading into the walled garden.
