Launch of ELD's Newsletter

December saw the introduction of our first ever Newsletter!! We had some fun with a Christmas competition whilst providing some tips and hints for winter jobs in the garden.

We are pleased to announce that, like our Latin Competition last summer, our Christmas Competition has been a great success. You may remember we asked you 3 questions about Poinsettias... and with so many replies from keen gardeners, eager to get their green fingers on the vouchers... would you believe the winning answers were received within 6 minutes of us sending out the Newsletter! The Poinsettia … were you right?

 This little plant is a mainstay in worldwide Christmas traditions, but how much did you really know about this plant? Did you know that the red parts of a poinsettia are actually bracts (modified leaves) and not petals?
