Award Winning Landscape Architects Gain Approval for Littleport Filling Station
Elwood Landscape Design (ELD) have secured another planning approval for a second BP service Station at Littleport, Cambridgeshire, for their client James Graven & Sons Ltd.
Chartered Landscape Architects, ELD were also responsible for the landscape design across the forecourt of the award winning BP/Budgens service station at Ely. Following an initial refusal of planning permission for the development last year, James Graven & Sons Ltd resubmitted their application. With the help of ELD Director, Ruth Elwood, the revised scheme addresses the issues raised by local residents and the District Council. This scheme will be robust and highly vegetated, creating an attractive landscape setting, demonstrated through the very clear 3D visualisation of the scheme, provided by ELD in support of the application.
Now that planning permission has been granted, the development will provide a state-of-the-art petrol station for Littleport, with a HGV dispensing area, parking and car wash facilities. Ruth Elwood said, ‘James Graven and Sons Ltd had carefully considered the objections put forward by local residents last year and together the design team has looked at the best possible ways to address these concerns. The approved scheme is smaller, but will provide much needed facilities in a way that will not adversely affect local residents of Littleport.’
James Graven & Sons Ltd is well known for its involvement and commitment to local communities. The company currently owns and operates three other BP/Budgens service stations in Ely and Chatteris and two supermarkets in Soham and Dersingham.
